Hi there Magna owners.
I own an '96 TS V6 auto. My problem is with the engine idle . I haven't read anything in the forums that is helpful. Idling speed is normally 850 RPM and smooth . When the engine is loaded e.g A/C or power steering actuated, the ISC responds perfectly. The RPM rises approx. 200revs with A/C, a little less with P/S. But when a gear is engaged the revs drop approx. 100rpm. The ISC is not responding. Unplugging the ISC has identical result. My question is "why is it so". Is it the trans switch on the selector or the trans control module or something else?

Just to add: The official idle speed I believe is 750 in drive and 850 in neutral. If the ISC kicked up the idle when engaging drive the car would want to take off, much like it does when the engine is cold.
I notice the increased idle when the steering pump is loaded (wife's manual Lancer), tooling around a car park in second slowly, engine pretty much at idling speed, crank the wheel for a corner and the car wants to speed up. Gotten used to that now. Clutch in, select first. lol
