Hey guys,

So MMAL in their infinite wisdom have changed to some weird plug for speaker connections on the 380 as opposed to the common automotive electrical connector used on the Magna. Does anybody know if the plugs and sockets used on the 380 for its speakers are a common size or can be purchased at an automotive/electronics store? I've done some searching but can't find any.

Failing that, are these plugs used anywhere else in the car that I would be able to grab from a wrecker?

Reason being, I'm putting aftermarket speakers in the car and would rather leave the standard plug, and just solder some wire and a socket onto the new speaker.

Before anyone suggests it, the sockets on the stock speakers are built into the speaker surround, and therefore are not salvageable.

Could always cut the connector off & solder the wires onto the aftermarket speakers. Then if you want to put the stockos back in just solder & heatshrink the wires back together & no one will be the wiser.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. Shame, would have been so much easier with a spare female plug!

You could split off the speaker wire and left the plug with a bit of tape around it, oh well, next time.

But the plugs are unique for speakers in mitsubishi, some speakers that is, even the es and gt front speaker plugs differ, (diff speakers tho).
I found the one you had pictured in one of their micro cars at a wreckers.
