hey guys i've been searching through the forum for about an hour now and cant find my answer on the following problems i have,
(the car has been manual converted and is tl)

1st. my reverse lights are no longer working, as they started to go i had to keep putting it into reverse a few times for them to light up. (i can tell the reverse lights are on due to having an auto console and the R would light up when put into reverse) i checked out the cables and there was some exposed wires so i stripped all the electrical tape and checked all connections were fine, i tested if the lights worked by touching the 2 wires together and the lights lit up so i conected all back together and retapped it up but they are still not working, is this a gearbox reverse sensor fault?

2nd.after checking this, my speedo stopped working, is there a connection or anything between the 2 that may of caused a short or something? the way i rewired the reverse wires up was red/blue wire to red wire on gearbox and black/white wire to red wire on gearbox, there were 3 wires that were still there im pretty sure the colour of them were yellow, black/yellow and black im certain these were just spare wires for auto so just taped them together and left them off to the side. before i go out and start spending money on VSS's or anything i was wondering is this the correct way to do the wiring and is there a fuse for the speedo i can check because its electronic, before people start saying are the speedo wires that come off the gear box loose or not connected, yes i have checked and its firmly in the socket

3rd and finally my gear shifter is really notchy between gears its been like that from the day i got the conversion it wasnt anything to do with the gearbox because after i killed my gearbox and got a new one the shifting was exactly the same Ih8hsv drove my car and would know what im on about, would this have something to do with the shifter cables or something else,

I know this is a pretty long thing to read through and some of the questions may seem dumb but i thought i would get answers from the people who know magnas the most
i will be really appreciative of any answers and help i get

Reverse lights would be a broken reverse gearbox switch as I have just replaced mine

Gearbox problem could be because of your clutch not fully disengaging?
When i owned an Evo i sometimes had some knotchy ness but that was due to a bubble in my clutch hydraulic line.

Sounds like a faulty reverse switch (Also there is a fuse for the reverse light just for future reference).
If you want to double check the Reverse switch set your voltmeter to continuity test and connect each wire to each of the probes. Then while watching the voltmeter (Unless you have one with a buzzer) put the car in reverse and if the numbers on the meter don't change or only sometimes changes you most likely have a faulty switch or if your lucky its just dirty.

Without looking at a wiring diagram (Most likely in a workshop manual) i wouldn't be able to tell what wire does what so i'm unsure about the dash issue (But you may as well look at fuses for the sake of it).
