Hi Guys,

First time posting here. I've had my 2004 Magna ES TL for 3-4 years now, it's a good car. Anyway, lately I've had a few problems with it. Firstly, the wind screen likes to fog up in the mornings and it takes a long time to demist it. It isn't on the inside and the windscreen wipers only clear it for a few seconds before it comes back. Anyone recommend anything to fix this? It can take 5-10 minutes to clear it.

The other problem, I don't know if one of my mates or a car cleaner guy broke off a rubber knob from the inside side of my right rear car door. It is a black rubber knob near the lock mechanism, it is like a cone with the end cut off. Anyway, right now there is just a hole there and I get a lot of noise from the door. I can't find anything on the internet and was going to wait until my next service and find if they have the part, but it is very bad especially when doing 80 or higher. Does anyone know where I can get the part from?

Cheers.

Windscreen behaviour doesn't sound unusual depending on the conditions. This happens on all of our cars come morning if they're parked outside on a cold night. As for the rubber insert, the wreckers would be the best place for that, but I wouldn't expect that to be making your noise. If I'm thinking of the correct part, mine was off for a few weeks before I found it on the garage floor a while back and I didn't notice anything in terms of noise from it missing over that period.

The fog issue is due to the difference in temp between inside and outside of the cabin. usually happens when its been raining/similar weather and it's humid in the cabin. You turn the demister on to defog the inside, and that clears it. If you leave it running for too long, the inside of the glass is cold from the AC and the outside is slightly warm from the engine heat coming from under the bonnet. Fix? Turn the heater on and direct the airflow to the demist position. Leave it running for about a minute after the fog disasppears (to remove the difference in temp of the glass.

And wreckers, for your other question.
