Hey guys,
Firstly, I have read through the Headlight sticky but it just lost me completely.
I drive a '98 TF Magna and one of the standard headlights is blown but the high beams and parkers still work. As far as I understand I need to buy 55/60W H4 bulbs? I have heard that Philips are great but I'm not sure which ones to get because they have so many different colour temperatures and things (I've been looking at Philips DiamondVision, Crystal Vision and X-Treme Vision for about $60, is that reasonable?) Would anyone be able to recommend a cheap (uni student budget) but quality headlight bulb that would solve my problem before I cop a $100+ fine?
Also, are they hard to install myself because I obviously don't want to pay for installation if I don't have to?
Any help would be great
Cheers
:D

Philips Diamond Vision and Crystal Vision are whiter than standard, but don't output any extra light. Higher colour temperature = lower light output. Xtreme Vision and Power2Night are fractionally whiter than standard (i.e. barely noticeable), but output noticeably more light. So it depends what you want out of your bulbs. Personally, I'd lean towards the Xtreme Vision.

Check out Powerbulbs (http://www.powerbulbs.com/au/store/category/car-bulbs/fitting/h4-472). They're UK based but quite cheap, and ship to Australia. Plenty of AMCers have bought from there before hassle-free. Something like the Philips Vision Plus (http://www.powerbulbs.com/au/product/philips-vision-plus-h4-twin-car-headlight-bulbs) might be a good balance between price and performance ($30AU inc delivery).

I've just switched from the Phillips Power2Night to a set of Narva Blue Plus 90s.

I thought the power2night were good until I used the plus 90s for the first time and they're fantastic. I believe they're the same as the Osram Nightbreakers. Should be rated a 3750k.

Wow thanks for the quick replies and that website is great!
So, could I use the Vision Plus' and the Nightbreakers without relays?
I don't understand what size bulbs need relays because some people say they have run higher wattage bulbs without relays?

Yes, bulbs like the Vision Plus and Nightbreakers are a standard wattage, so no relays or other upgrades are required.

Magna headlight wiring is quite small as-is - in fact, you can upgrade the wiring on your standard wattage bulbs, and get a noticeable improvement in light output. So running higher wattage bulbs without relays is utterly pointless on a Magna.
