After 9 years its time I said goodbye to my beautiful old girl. My 98' TF Solara needs to go as we need a wagon or a SUV. Most dealers do not want to give us a trade in price as they said its worth 2.5k on redbook but its a superb example and they all said to sell it privately.
-Its been garaged all its life, both at home and at work, with paint protection.
-Has dual fuel
-new brakes, belts, manifold and fluids.
-Runs like new, looks like new (2 very minor dings and scratches)
-Has a built in 7' DVD/GPS/bluetooth system
-tow bar
-Only travelled 110,000k
-3litre auto
I really do not want to sell her as I've done 90% of the k's on it and its never ever had a problem we just need something with boot space.
Even the local mechanic who services her wants to buy it but he won't be able to until the new financial year..

Just not sure what its worth if I was to advertise it.

Have a look on Gumtree, eBay etc to get a rough idea of what she is worth.
I'd say maybe $4K (advertise at $5K and be prepared to drop), but finding a buyer who appreciates the car will be difficult.
I'm in the market for a wagon too, to replace my aging TS wagon.

Could you get by with roof racks or a trailer? Be a pity to part with a car in the prime of its life for little $$$

I was really surprised when I traded my TJ in, blokes wanted to give me 2k for it, at 120k on the clock. Even though I knew the car was stuffed , you woukdn't know that til u drove it for a few months. I ended up geting 5 as a trade in, but yards don't care about k's, just about the year model. You can buy magna's cheap at different times, when I was looking for a car 3 months ago, I was surprised to see low k magna's going for 2500, but I think given the condition u can aim a bit higher, just that yl be competing for buyers with TJ and even TW Magna's and the market at this point is for 4 cyl cars and small SUV. Watch carsales as suggested for the best idea
