You need Mitsubshi SP-III fluid, this can be bought from the dealer for a decent price, but you can get a Nulon or castrol fluid that is SP-III sspec. it is VERY important it is the right fluid, the wrong fluid ie dextron3 etc will ruin the gearbox. dont let anyone tell you otherwise. the amount for a normal sump plug drop is about 5l but this doesnt get the old fluid out of the torque converter or valve bodys etc, its best to do a power flush. do a search, but it basically involves draining sump, refitting plug and refilling. then remove the hose that runs to the trans oil cooler in bottom of radiator and with idling the car in neutral , drain from this hose to a bucket, while you add new fluid via the filler spout. once the fluid runs clean and pink, it is flushed. takes about 10l of fluid. dont let it run dry of fluid or you may cause damage. two person job really.
