Hi guys,

late last year i put a low(er) kms engine and transmission in my ke verada, im fuzzy about what model they came out of but it was obviously a 4 speed 3.5L and the work was done by a workshop im friendly with.

Anyway the problem i have is that after a long trip at easter i had troubles with the automatic shifter, i would select D and the dash would show im still in N therefore not in gear, i would select 3 and drive would engage although, putting it back into D after would result in it staying in drive. This also happened with reverse, neutral etc in the same pattern. As im a student i couldnt really afford to take the car off the road so i put up with it for a few weeks.

However going to start the car yesterday in P it would not start, with dash showing R, i tried to selected a different gear and the dash would not change for R no matter where the shifter was. So at the moment it is stuck in reverse, and therefore unable to start the car at all.

Was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, and if its a problem with the shifter, transmission or something else?

Adjustment of the shifter cable at the gearbox. It may have come adrift.
