Sup guys,
I posted in the Victorian section, but things don't get a lot of attention there... :(
I'm pretty much looking for somewhere to get a cat-back, high flow, dual exhaust, mandrel bent, flux capacitor, blah-blah done on my car. lol
I was hoping some of you guys would know of a good place to have it done in Victoria? And anything (or general tips) that I should know?

Ok well I had both the exhaust systems done on my VS Commodore and WH Statesman at: Radiant Exhausts (http://www.radiantexhaust.com.au/) and they done a fantastic job and the exhaust systems sound awesome, I will more then likely take my Magna there if I decide to get the exhaust done.
Here are their details, but click on the link for their website:

Every car we do at work that needs an exhaust/muffler, we send to this place and have never had any complaints. If you call them, ask for Trevor.
Morosolo, I know a guy who does good exhaust work, he's done it to all my cars I've owned and I've been quite happy with it. I told him that if anyone needed exhaust work that I'd recommend him :)
Simonhaha's verada got his hiflow cat from there and he was quite happy to :)
If your gonna run duals, you need to have a section where the muffler or tip will sit to be cut out :) then the rest of the work he'll do.

Ask for Rodney and tell him the asian dude with the green magna at Northern Smash Repairs told you to speak to him.

James, are you looking to go serious power? Otherwise id tell you to stay away from a mandrel bent system as you wouldn't gain much at all.
Noticing the difference in power between my cars, the 200Cpi cat seems to go well with the red car. All mods between the two where very similar with mufflers/extractors ect. I'd advise you to go the cat and get a couple of decent mufflers if you want the dual system.
Talking to Dan, Nemesis and Leigh who all got their cars done at a place in Lilydale(maybe Mf Muffler? Not sure), you have a choice of having a y piece or a t join for the dual system. Y is better for flow, but the T is good if you only want the noise on full throttle. Beware as well, dual exhausts are EXTREMELY droning. Sitting in all of the guys cars and driving one now you notice it a lot more. So if your driving people around a lot who don't like the noise, beware =)

You dont gain much because the stock exhaust system is also mandrel bent. I would reccomend getting mandrel bent to avoid any loss in power and torque throughout the rev range

Is his exhaust a 2.5"? If its a magna 2.5" exhaust its not mandrel bent dave.

Yeah, I recall a lot of people speaking highly of a place in Lilydale. Anyone else care to confirm if it's Mr Muffler?
Why would you advise against mandrel bent? It's technically better anyway, apart from the tiny amount of power, is it just a price thing?
Also, with the Y and T joins, I'm guessing that Y is better, but T is cheaper?
So it's really just a price thing? The best to go for would be Mandrel Bent, Y-Join? But it would be the most expensive?

I've got a KH Verada.

I have heard nothing but bad things from the muffler man in prahran... Anyway, when i need something done i go to Carnegie Muffler on Princes Hwy (9571 6686). Domenic does an awesome job no matter how big or how small :)

As for the type of pipe to use, I would always go for mandrel... It's more expensive for a reason. Yes, it costs more to fabricate, but it flows a lot more. But at the end of the day its about how much you want to spend.

Im more so saying, theres no huge gain in getting the mandrel bent exhuast if you not looking to go for lots of power =) If you want to spend the money sure!
T-piece will just let the noise down softer, but no it wont flow as well. Y piece will give more power. Just giving you all options. Ill ask Razor tonight about the place

My recommendation is a small business owner in Dandy. He's tucked away behind autobarn. Shop's called "Autofast Muffler Fit". It's near the South Gippsland highway.
The owner is your typical oldschool mechanic kind of guy. Really down to earth. Great to deal with and he's pretty cheap too. My dad had him install a new muffler and fix up some rusty piping on his car and it was much cheaper than Daalder or Dandy exhausts.

Had my TR done by that guy, was a very good job and cheap.
Had my TJII done at my muffler in lilydale as wiggles said above, average priced but very good service, and the guy knows his shit. If you remotely describe a sound you want, he'll grab a muffler off the shelf and won't bullshit you. He has been 3 from 3 with a few members cars.
Had my 380 done at daalder exhausts in Dandy (would have gone to lilydale but its just too far from pakenham, besides i already knew the muffler i wanted), they were a little expensive, service was average, but the actual job was well done.

Daalder are very expensive. They quoted me $550 to install a catback system with a redback muffler. Needless to say I went to Autofast Muffler Fit up the road.
I'm need a new cat TIG welded up so I'm going to get a quote from both the one in Lilydale and this Autofast guy and see which one is cheaper. As long as it is fitted with flanges - I'm happy.
