Just got home from Melbourne after a fortnight and found I had left my UHF radio on by mistake and flattened the battery. I jumped started it and let it run for a while and when I tried to drive away the auto shifted very quickly like something was wrong it was fine until it changed gears really weird on the on ramp and went straight to third gear leaving me unable to change gear with the tip tronic and the neutral light flashing. I got to where I was going left it and on the way home it was all normal except for the light for the first gear showing on the dash being very very dim like there was an earth problem or something. Anyone got any idea what might be wrong or is happening to it?

ECU mapping gone nuts? I'm no expert but I would have thought that, even with a complete battery drain, the ECU mapping and the related transmission mapping would not be affected, otherwise every battery change would end up costing a fortune in money and time.

Perhaps the battery going flat and your transmission playing up are just an unfortunate coincidence. MadMagna or one of the other really knowledgeable guys will be able to help you.

Reset your ECU again by disconnecting and re-connecting the battery, then follow the auto-trans re-learning procedure. Fingers crossed you'll be ok then and it's just got a bit confused from the flat battery.
