1. What is the power consumption of your stereo system?
2. Please state how many amps do you have, Brand, etc
3. Any side-effects?
I'm trying to decide if my car will cope adding 2nd amp.

I've currently got an PG 600.4 Amp, which draws is rated to draw 68amp. The car handles it fine atm, with only slight very dimming when idle. However I want to add a min 600W+ RMS monoblock so I can power 2x12" subs off it.

If it's starting to dim at idle, it might pay you to add a capacitor. You'll definatly need to if you're going add a 600W RMS amp and it's doing it now ('cause it will draw a sh*t load more power from the baterry!)...worst case scenerio for that amount of power you want would be to install a 2nd battery in the boot with an ignition isolation switch.
I'm using a 1 farad capacitor with 2 160WRMS amps to drive each sub and a 4x40W RMS amp to drive the main speakers and seems to handle ok. Really crank it up with the A/C on and the lights on (low beam and fog lights) and the digital read out on the capacitor has only been as low as 12.9 V at idle!
At rated power, the 3 amps draw 85 amps.

Yeah if I get another amp, I'll be adding a cap without a doubt!

Before you get a cap get a better battery, if the dipping is still there then think about a cap.

If your amps draw 100A at rated power, you'd need more than a 100A alternator for normal street use!

yeah!
thats excellent
how much power are u feeding them?
sealed enclousure or ported?
mines ported and it takes up the entire boot of a hyundai excel....
its been rewound and can take 4000w rms for a 3second burp hehehe.
i would love to get my hands on another one.... but then will need more power to drive it =[
best amp i have seen atm for a 4ohm load is the crossfire tek 150.2 gives about 700w rms into 4 ohm and its only $699
i should of got 2 of them instead of my rockford cheaper and more power =[

mine are gettin about 700 RMS each.
I have isobaric ported enclosure, so it isn't really meant to SPL more SQ but it still goes pretty hard. I am happy. how much did you pay for yours?
