I'm unsure if the is a magna problem or a feature. it seems the if i accelerate to anything over 55km/h and take my foot off the accelerator it slows very slowly at a steddy rate untill i hit 55. then the deceliration seems to slow quicker almost like i have put the brakes on slightly or its changing gears.
MMM haven't tryed leaving it in 3rd. maybe i will try that.
any help would be apperciated.
Thanks

Simple. The TJ 4 speed changes to third at any speed below 55 kph, even with the throttle off. I hate it when cruising around town, at 60 kph it is in 4th, but any slight slowing down or increase in throttle drops it down to third. Constantly changing between the two gears can't be good for the gearbox, leaving it in third until you get to say an 80 zone might be better for wear and tear on it.

I thought it may have been that. didnt feel like a major problem just needed some clarification. i wont worry about it now.

I hadn't noticed it as much until I reset the ECU (and subsequently, did the re-learn procedure for the TCM) recently. The upshift from 4-3 seemed more pronounced.

I'm the same Mech reset the ecu when replacing the oil pump.
