have a TF 3.0L, she has done 300K's and I think about ready to retire. The chasis etc is in excellent condition. I can get a TK engine for around $1300 with 3 month warranty with 115,000K's. I think the TK is a 3.5L? Is the engine worth it? Can I put the 3.5 in the 3.0L? Also I like the triptronic gearboxes (i think in the verada's). Can i put that in my exec TF?

i think you mean the TL in theory it should i cant see why it wouldnt? youd need new ecu and all that crap but the 3.5L is a bored 3.0L if not someone correct me?? and the tiptronic youd need a new g'box and a new auto trans comp for it....i think itd work.....

3.5 have a taller Head, and bigger bore. But the mounts are in the same locations and since the TF to TL engine mount locations did not change, then I would say you can drop a 3.5 into your TF without modification of the chassis. But a front cut would be better than to just buy a 3.5L engine, as you'll get everything new, eg Transmission, Diff, ECU, etc etc...

White devil: What do mean by front cut?

ATM: I am looking a buying a damaged vehicle such as a Verada and taking the engine, g/b and probably most of the interior.

A front cut is where they take a damaged car and cut the front off, usually at the windscreen. Some front cuts may have missing panels or lights etc....but as WhiteDevil mentioned, they contain all the mechanical/electrical components of the front end...g/b, driveshafts, ecu, wiring loom etc.

If you need interior components and can get a hold of a damaged verada for a good price, then that may be the better option for you...
