2003 KL with "creaking" sounds on 3/4 to full left hand lock.

More prevelant when cold.

Definitely left hand front wheel.

Maybe worse when reversing.

Worse over bumps. Backing out of the missus' driveway on the way to work its all creaks and groans.

I did swap suspension out a whole ago, had a wheel alignment and there was not noise after all of that. The last thing I messed with was replacing the front pads - no noise then either. Noise has only been around thus last four weeks roughly... could be getting worse, or I could be getting paranoid.

I have the LH front wheel off now - cant see anything glaringly obvious.

Possibly related;
Noisy brakes when cold. That last foot just before the car comes to a complete stop (when cold) = GROAN. Doesn't do this once they have heat in them.

Any pointers, guesses or tricks to silence my wheel are much appreciated.

Dry and creaky Ball joint, possibly. Inject some heavy oil or light grease into it. Syringe with sharp needle, through the top of the boot, it works it way down to the joint. Clean the boot, put a dab of silicon sealer on the hole.

Worked for me anyway. Creaking was worst in cold, wet weather.
