Hey guys. I believe either my discs or the brakes are on their way out or warping or something. Cold, they are fine but once warmed up they start playing up. Slowing down from say 80 or 100 to 0 results in 30 to 0 vibrations from the front. It's hard to explain but it feels as if its catching and releasing several times a second. Sort of like a wet latex glove on a hand being dragged across a surface in which it catches on.

So I'm planning on replacing pads + discs. How much am I looking at roughly? No performance parts or anything yet. just something to rival the brakes on there now (which I'm pretty sure are factory ones)

Cheers. It's a TH Exec.

Sounds like warn rotors/pads yeah.
If I were you id put in a few dollars and get a 380 brake kit. Its fantastic peace of mind to know that you have more braking power than you need and its great bang for buck (not too much more than rotors/pads) anyway

Certainly does. He recommends them very highly in a lot of posts as do many other users!

Yeah he also has good service and prices that are much better than mits/other places. I was in the same situation, and my pads/rotors were on the way out. I got the kit with the car (wasnt put on yet) and the improvement was ridiculous. So much better.

I thought I had warped discs once. So I got some new ones and picked up some fuel injector cleaner while I was there. After running the injector cleaner the problem went away. Turns out the engine was running rough on the over-run which gave the same feeling as warped rotors. The new rotors are still sitting in the shed. Might be worth a try first.

Get your current discs skimmed ($50), new pads ($50) and invest in a torque wrench ($50). Do the wheel nuts up to 92 Nm. No more warped disc wobbles! Worked for me anyway.

Of course, you could just be feeling the front wheels flapping about as you brake because the tie rod ends and ball joints are worn . . . . How many Km on the car?
