I have these ROH rims that get kerbed if your not careful every damn time, so I am happy to have them on mine and I put red on mine, an all white Magna. This is an earlier shot before the complete white out was done, but you will get the idea.
You'll have to look hard at the image to see them, but they have saved my rims a couple of times.
I just bought a TH in that black metallic colour, I might slip a couple of them on one side on the weekend and take a picture to see what that looks like too.

Hey mate i have a few pics of red rim skins on my tf ive taken them off now however beacause they get fairly dirty and not to mention that when u get a tyre changed the guys at the tyre place rip the skins right off.there like 50 bucks each to get done so when that happened to me i lost it and said no more!!!...in sayin that though they do as intended and protect the mag and also give a certain look to your car.your choice man, were u from as i have a roll of the stuff if u want it not enough for all 4 tyres say maybe 2 but u can trial it..

Ahhhh these things. I was thinking rimskins were some sort of slang for hub caps. These look cool. I like.

I looked on the rimskin website (worth checking out) and you can buy the skins in single twins and three packs as well as the normal five pack. I paid $99 (still this price now) for my set and got five in the pack, tyres lasted two years, no punctures. but I had one spare skin. When I got new tyres, they manages to change them all without removing or damaging the skins. To clean them up a bit I used a bit of white spirits on a clean cloth and just wiped around it after a wash, comes up nice and clean.
Oh, they have a blue skin too now ;)

there was a video on youtube that shows you how to repair your wheels and it required bogging up the scratches and painting the wheel the original colour

Really because when I got my tl vrx wheels painted the gutter rash was sanded down flat so I'm guessing this is the cheap way of repairing wheels properly

The last set of wheels i repaired was for an SS commodore. These pictures only show the small gutter rash. But yes generally you sand back as much as you can of the gutter rash then fill in the remaining damage

Its not weird at all, infact its a very common practice for repairing gouges and gutter rash.

They say you can put these things on over existing gutter rash if you want. I know we talked Red and i mentioned the Blue but they do have black and a grey/silver as well. If the gutter rash is not bad, check out the video here http://www.rimskins.com/ might save you money on these rims and make them look better.
As for the people who think that using auto body filler to fix mag wheels is "I've heard it all now". guess you haven't been around much hey ;). I have seen them fixing kerbed rims this way after initial dressing with file etc for over 10 years. As long as it is not a structural repair, it is fine.

Almost any wheel is suitable, its just a lot more work if its polished alloy and extremely hard if its chrome.

Not quite mate, if the rim has any sort of lip around the edge, they won't fit properly. If you have rims like the one in MR SPL's image, with the flush edge, then no worries. Any other type that has any sort of beading or edge around it and it is a waste of your money. :(
