This is a long shot but...
Does any one know what intake air temperature is of a sprintex setup? Im not using piggy back (using reflashed factory) so im not monitoring it, im only able to monitor intake temperature at MAF point which obviously happens prior to compression of air which is pretty much useless given Sprintex setup is not inter cooled.
Does any one have a log or any figure of IAT at the maf vs IAT in the intake manifold?
The issue is that, MAF reads a certain amount of air but we are having trouble in relating it back to AFRs, its like air disappears after it goes into superchager, which results in rich AFRS. Boost leak is out of question as im still getting my 6.5psi boos as im am supposed to.
After speaking with few people what i think the problem is the Delta Temperature, i.e temperature change after compression, i believe it not linear that means it becomes higher & higher at rising rpms. Which results in different air density in the combustion chamber.
Since air is hot it loses its density so you get less air molecules in the combustion chamber meaning AFR reading is going to be much richer when compared to cooler air with higher density. Dont confuse PSI & density.
As above i think the problem is the Delta temperature is NOT linear and rises at a curve on the graph. All i need is the data to prove it.

Put in water methanol injection in and your post blower intake temps will be lower.
That, or rewire your MAF to take an input from a temp sensor put into the blower outlet

40 degrees C at 3000 rpm and 60 degrees c at 15000 rpm, just draw a straight line between the two points.
(according to the latest sprintex blowers that is...)
graphs on first page...a bit hard to read, but all there.

Pretty sure when I last connected my computer to the car I was getting temps in the range of 80-100 degrees. Peaking about 130. I could be wrong - this was me revving in the car park though.
Once I've finished welding the inside of my car I can throw the seats back in and give you proper numbers.

Are you Seam Welding the insides??

I connected teh computer up back in January.. my memory could be off.
I'll idle my car tomorrow and get a screen shot.

Already got water meth, again since i have no temp sensor i cant really say how effective that is. Good idea but i still need to monitor pre compression air temp to determine difference between the two.

Yea ive seen that, unfortunately i couldn't find one for my model (which is 3 generations behind). Also im pretty sure this graph was done with superchanger in the lab (i.e not on the engine), so actual delta temps might be different. Its funny how sprintex has one of the features as low discharge temps. hmmmmm delta temperature of 60c would mean at 30c intake temp your discharge temp would be 90c (perfect for coffee), & that doesnt take into account residual heat from engine, so it will be even higher!

Cheers man, is at all possible to do a log with engine under load?

Hey, no screen shots - but....
78 - 80c idling after a cold start
89 - 95c driving spiritedly through back streets
~118c at full boost WOT
This is on a 380 sprintex kit on my mivec engine ( as per my picture to the side << ). S5-335 blower.
Oh... also to note. Car temp sitting at about 95 - 98c. Fan comes on at 100c. I am running a pod filter with the hot air from the radiator blowing straight into it... fail on my part.

you should re-route your snorkel to where your fog lights are. Keeps that cold air flowing

Thanks buddy, thats exactly what i was looking for. I believe such massive change in intake temperature is the reason why we are having trouble in using MAF only for AFR tuning. Air would loose a lot of density under such temps to this would result in less oxygen molecules in the chamber, hence rich AFRs. That is precisely why after market ECU''s or piggybacks use manifold temperature sensor together with MAP sensor to determine air density.
I regards to pod, i have the same setup as you, my maf sensor was reading 47c at idle, dropping to 37 cruising on highway. So my discharge temps would be close to what you got.
Thanks again!!!

Might see a 10-20 degree drop if I can work out a CAI... Bit harder to do with the ralliart bar.
Explains the higher readings I quoted before too.. 130c in summer.
Keep in mind the difference in our manifolds and blowers.
Are you running dynamitezerg's old kit?

From what i know series 5 sprintex is a much better unit, then the one that came with magna kit, so i wouldnt be surprised if i get even higher discharge temps!
Im not sure of the original owner i think it might be him, i know livinitup bough it off someone then sold it to Gone, then i bought it off him. I am however running a brand new supercharger in it (last one sprintex had left)
Ive actually ended up making a box for my pod to keep intake temperature down, CAI is a bit hard to make for ralliart bar (what i have aswell), since fog lights cut outs are not present, so you filter is not exactly getting the coldest air possible. This is the best i could come up with

Bonnet scoop off a subaru?

hahaha damn....
I think so, it a subaru style one, i was actually was going to get rid of it but now might have to reconsider & make it into actually proper bonnet scoop (cut the hole in the bonnet) to let all this hot air out!
I got a kit off dynamitezerg...

lol 6g75 mivec motor, I'm hoping to eventually get a low 13 second pass
btw, when are you getting your car down to the track? when are you going to the next meetup so I can see your car/go head to head?
