ok i know these are commonly asked questions and dumb ones at that, but i want some clear answers before i spend money:nuts:

1. the globes in the cluster are T10 Wedge globes right???

2. the globes that tell you which gear you are in for automatics are T5's???????

3.is it better to get my globes off ebay or jaycar????

i also watched someone on youtube changing their globes on standard air conditioning on a nissan pulsar and wondered if this could be done to magna air con???

shown in the video below from 4:05 - 4:25

for backlights I would go ebay smd leds over jaycar, the jaycar ones I have seen (1led and 4led) are very directional and could leave circles on your dash.
However the jaycar ones are probably less likely to cause problems with the circuit loading as they have inductors and resistors built in whereas cheaper ebay ones do not.

:yeahthat:

I would rather weird circles than burnt out circuitry.

When I did my TS with jaycar ones, I got the 4 led T10s and sanded down the bumps so it got a much better spread

Or just get inverted T10's - these spread the light much better. I had the Inverted T10's in the car when I had a manual air-con console - worked a charm. Very little gaps and a good spread. Otherwise something like a 5 SMD led would be fine.

Unfortunately I only have plain white thanks to the TL centre console having led's soldered to the board :(

i read somewhere that you can unsolder the TL lights and solder the correct ones

Can be done but the same can be said about any circuit. Much easier to replace a bulb than to start melting metal.

I went for T10 5 SMD LED off ebay and they are great. I can get a picture if you want.

Does anyone know if all dash clusters fit T10s? I want to do the ones on the Colt but i don't know if they're the same or not...
