hey all, not long ago bought a TS magna 2600 5 speed carby. drives perfect until you drive for more then a hour at a time then when your off the clutch 100% and put your foot down it hops jumps surges and hates life. in traffic you can only rev to 1500rpm as it just hates life and have to get into 4th by 40kph to be able to get speed up to get to 60.

let the car cool down over night and she is perfect again the next day.

old owner said it had a new in tank pump, it got new leads and rotor button and good quality fuel. i just cant work out whats going on... do they have a 2nd pump off the motor? could it be the carbie (if so why does it drive perfect any other time)

i should mention if you back off with the clutch out such as on the highway it jumps a few times but ride the clutch and its hardly noticeable

im not any good with carby,s . check out the gen1 section there,s a lot of carby threads in there that may help you

how old are the spark plugs

change the fuel filter

check all the vaccumme lines for cracks

and dashpots holding suction

sounds like the secondary dash pot isnt working

also recheck the timing /dissy cap for cracks ........
