Have noticed that as of this morning, the Magna has developed a clunking sound in its front end. It doesn't occur constantly, only intermittently and doesn't seem to follow any obvious pattern as to when it comes and goes. When the noise does occur, it sounds as though it follows the rotation of the driveline and wheels. This occurs whether the car is going straight or around corners, and doesn't appear to be based on speed.
It appears to be coming more from the passenger side than anything, and when the knocking is heard it can be felt occasionally in the floor pan / passenger footwell.
I've checked the outer CV boots and haven't found them to have split. Inner boots i'm still not sure about but will be checking them tonight, along with the wheel nuts (who knows, better to check than not) and any other components I can think of, including any debris that's been caught in the undercarriage.
Obviously it's worth having a mechanic check it over, and I plan to do this as soon as I can get it booked in.
For now though, I want to know what I should check over while I have the chance or what could possibly be causing this sound that's worth looking in to. I have until tonight to figure out whether I should make alternative travel arrangements for the remainder of the week, basically. I know it could be basically anything, but some components are surely more likely than others, and that's what I want to determine.
Cheers
