Hi guys, I have a tf Magna Turbo with stock motor, I wanted to know if I put a fuel regulator, can I run 10 or more PSI on the standard injectors? I have run 12.9 on it, but reduced to 9.6 when I want to go hard & I run about 4 to 5 for cruising.

do you have a small turbo..?? 12.9 PSI sounds low. Im no expert but my guage before reg reads at around 70-80 PSI. I am running a very heavily modified engine though and good size turbo. I would of thought with a Turbo you need to run 30-40 atleast. do you have a rising rate reg..??

I'm running a t4 turbo, but stock head, injecters & pistons, what a safe lvl to run? I took it to 15psi ones, but boost correction kicked in & brought it down, what will a turbo smart fuel regulator do for me, if any hp increase

Dont go any higher in boost unless you have a spare engine

So what do recommend psi lvl for my engine?

I would recommend using a proper reg for bossted motors, issue with the std reg is it will not adjust for boost

This way, off boos you have std pressure, on boost you can get a little more pressure without over doing it.

Most important thing you need to keep an eye on is the AFM, running low boost should be fine provided you keep your AFM correct

so if I go with turbo smart reg that should do the trick at 10psi?

On a 3.0L i'd imagine anything over 10psi you are asking for trouble unless you stick forged pistons and conrods in.

Thanks guys, I'll have a look into it, so should I still put a regulator in even on stock injecters & pistons?

10 psi boost pressure is the upper limit of std pistons they will chip the crowns of them.

if its have fuel starvation problems fit a adjustable fuel reg and larger injectors but i still would not up the boost level over 10psi on a std engine thats asking for trouble.

What kind of power are you pulling atm? If your already around the 270-300HP mark, I wouldn't really want to go any more powerful without doing some internal work anyway.

Woob the engine is a 3l and auto so should be much less.

200Kw at the wheels & that was before I stuck the turbo in, I was told its doing at the moment 220kw but have to get it retuned, had the turbo re done

200kw at wheels before the turbo? Well you do know this is a magna forum so you can't really get away with lieing lol

Sorry didn't read what I wrote, I mean before I had the turbo rebuilt, the original turbo was a e bay one & wasn't working as well as it could, it started leaking oil 3 months back & smoked all over the place, so I had the turbo sent away & when it got put on the car again & tested better performance from the get go, even the mechanic said its got more grunt in it. But I was told not to go over 10PSI until I get it retuned & see whats happening, I want to do a few other things before I take it in, so I should expect about 220 to 230kw.

Ah ok get it tuned and get some graphs up. Should be good man

Yeah b4 that I want to do the injectors, fuel rail & fuel reg, then I guess it will be a bit stable, do you guys recon I should get the rpw manifold, does that contribute to hp?

Nah i wouldn't bother save your money and spend it on a set of forged pistons they will be more benefit. But i would do the fuel reg and some bigger injectors.cause if its a 3 lt std its only got 210cc injectors in it they will be way to small you'll need more like 440cc.

He's talking fuel rail pressure..

With injecters, any idea is 11mm will be a straight fit? What does it cost to get the pistons & rod done? Will I need to get the head modified in any way?

Pretty sure he's talking boost pressure not fuel rail pressure.

I'm using 440cc from a supra you just need to make a higher spacer and put in a resistor because they are low impedance but they are cheap less than $100 a set. you can get others but they are more expensive around $300-$400 a set.Raptor do a set of 475cc's for about $650 a set that are modified ford ones but they are drop in no mods. Pistons around a $1000 a set of custom made forgies rods about the same.

How much would someone charge to put the pistons & rods in (roughly)? I wanted to change the rails for fuel pressure, but I'm getting mixed answers, some say do it with injectors & some say just do injectors.

As per what crackajnr said about PM Tradewind about the injectors, he works for Raptor and has experiance with supercharged magnas. He sourced mine for me and only cost me a few hundred. He has them machined and all you have to do is swap the plugs around on the injector loom. ~ 475cc injectors, but the part number stamped on them match something from a ford. Suburu ones are also known to fit but I can't comment on what ones exactly.

Stock pressures in the fuel rail can be anywhere from 35-50 psi. Workshop manual states 38.5psi at idle.

I'm running a supercharged 3.8

Yeah, he quoted me $650
