Hi guys,
I just installed my new head unit - JVC KW-XR616 double din...
Now i've done the wiring correctly, however my mast on my electric aerial isnt working properly, and with my old stock stereo, it had a button which i could program to control my aerial so it would stay at a certain height and wouldnt whine.
Does anyone have the same head unit, or could perhaps tell me how i could control the aerial with this particular head unit? the manual has nothing in it, nor does the installation guide.
Cheers
Edit: I should note - The aerial goes up and down - the problem is that it whines when it goes all the way up, a problem I was able to remedy with my old stock stereo by making it go half way.

Mike, some one needs a half height switch, lol..
You just call Mike, and he appears almost instantly.
There its a switch you can add to retain the half height antenna...mcs_xi has done it.
Look for his thread in the members rides section, or search...

I assume this would be done by buying a switch + cover from Super Cheap and wiring it up to the aerial?

It depends how your antenna is wired normally.
Does the original unit allow half-height? If so, the mod that a lot of us do is the "Half-Height Switch Mod", basically just buy a 3 way switch (I - O - II) and some sort of power from the Headunit (say, remote?) goes to "O", the "I" has a cable spliced into the original half-height cable and the "II" has a cable spliced into the full-height cable.
If your antenna doesn't have half-height wiring OEM, then it would appear to be more complicated and I wouldn't know. :(

This should help, Linky (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53413), hopefully, seeing as there are two wires, you might be able always have the half height, without another switch...

good choice in deck, i installed the same model into my VRX this weekend, there is no antenna level adjustment, its up or down, goes up with radio on and down when aux and cd are selected.
if there is not manual overide button then nothing can really be done to help.
on my pioneer i put a switch in that turned it off all together as pioneer decks don't have an antenna trigger wire.
