I understand its a common problem. Has progressively got worse over last few years.

Would appreciate any advise regarding a DIY fix.

I have looked at the seals. The elasticity of the seals seems to be reduced and the upper edge of the seals has lifted, allowing organic matter, sludge and water to enter the car.

I have considered trying to rip off some seals at a wreckers. However I presume there is an art to the removal of window seals without damaging the seal.

Please advise.

Regards Gary

The seal on the window is not the issue at all, it is the seal the seals the rubber to the body, Mits used a foam bases seal

Simple matter of removing the window, under the plastic trims are a series of 8mm nuts, remove these plus the one hidden above the seat belt loop, push out the window and rubber, clean, us non hardening mastic only, DONT use silicone or sikaflex as it will not be possible to remove that window again should there be an issue, run the mastic around where the foam was and re install

Sorry to be so unknowledgable, but the "plastic trims", are they inside the car or outside? I presume inside.

Thanks again.
