I find my 1998 Verada wagon wanting for little, except for split-fold rear seats, so that my mates and I, as well as our surfboards, all fit inside (I only have 2 - 3 mates). Has my head been in the sand for many years or is there an economical solution?

You can actually get them. However it will be questionable legally.

Wagons exported to Japan as JDM consumption have a split fold rear seat. Catch is they have a lap centre belt. They also are quite rare so the parts are very hard to find. Best search NZ for them. None will be avail in Australia.

Roof Racks??

Hmmm...sounds difficult. By the way, the unfortunate thing about the roof rails and racks is that they don't allow for opening the back with something long on top. I only use them if I really have to. I wonder why Mitsu. Aus. gave up on spit-folds after Series 2?
