My keyless entry range on it is crap. Is there anything I can do to extend the range?

Replace battery? Check the battery contacts to ensure they're soldered down well.
If that doesn't work then line up the remote against your head. Apparently your brain amplifies the signal. I'm not actually joking because I talk from personal experience lol
Alternatively you could get an aftermarket alarm system. They usually have better range.

Yep, just hold the remote against your head, it really works. I saw this done on Top Gear years ago so gave it a shot 'for science'.

I have heard everything now...
I tried the head trick and it worked ....... also tried holding it high above but away from my head....worked too......held low it didn't work. Hmmmm.

Scorcher is right, but the best spot is your chin. I know it sound like rubbish but it is true. The problem with the Yazaki (Australian Arrow) BCM used by Mitsubishi is it has not external wire arial. The range will never be any good due to the design.
