thanks to all who have been helping me with my questions.
Hopefully this will be an easy one.
Getting a new double din head unit installed on thursday, but need to save a few $$$ and time by putting new rear speakers in before.
Simple question how do you get the rear speakers out lol

thanks again

small screwdriver :) two ways to tackle this, undo the nuts from underneath the parcel shelf (access from the boot) this assumes there are nuts there, sometimes yes, sometimes no. Typically they fixed using phillips head screws in to slide on clips. Best thing I found to use was a little ratchet screw driver, basically a flat blade that took socket bits. something like this works a treat http://www.ehobbytools.com/contents/media/20518.jpg

I got mine from Autobahn from memory, cost me less than $10. Has come in so handy ever since (accepts any bit, have used torxx bits, hex bits driver bits)

As above, something like this will do the trick - can get one from Bunnings for about $5 or so.

Yeah thats right. Mine has 3 each side and twists up and out. The earlier will be similar.

The Original speakers are usually held in with screws, that's a hex head (8mm I think) with a philips in the center....
Socket drive is way easier that a philips...

Once you have undone the nuts holding the grille in they should just lift straight out. Failing this just give the threads coming down through the parcel shelf a little push and the speaker grille should pop up.

1: around each 6x9 will be 3 threaded studs with square tips and a nut. Undo all 3 nuts and push up on the threads to pop the grille up
2: lift the grilles up from inside the car. Use a stubby screwdriver for the front screws, and a phillips driver bit with hexagonal shaft and a spanner for the rear ones, or one of the tools shown above.
3: can't remember if you need to take the parcel shelf carpet out, I did to get my spacers in, rear seats have to come out to get to parcel shelf screws on the front.
