i just bought my 5th gen 2 magna. it's a charcoal TR SE 4cyl auto wagon with a stuffed motor (no compression), a few minor dings, rust around the windscreen (anyone seen this before in a gen 2??) and long rego, i paid $700 for it.

Anyone in NSW got a good cheap 2.6L motor for sale? :P

If you could hold out till early next year, i could sell you a near new V6 complete with everything and a manual gearbox as i will not need it soon

Just a thought

i will probably just fit a secondhand 4cyl or maybe do the V6 conversion, if i find a rolled or rear hit damaged V6 magna/verada for the right price.
I pulled the rocker assembly off the head today to find that the cam has grabbed on 3 out of the 4 alloy bearings journals, I also found a cracked exhaust manifold and torn outer LH cv boot. So i'm currently raiding the wagon for parts to repair a TR 4cyl manual sedan so i can sell the sedan to maintain cashflow.
I'll probably wind up with the wagon sitting around as a rolling shell with rego. lol

normally i buy them, repair em and then resell at a profit. I like the second gen magnas because their easy to buy cheap in fair condition, parts are cheap and they do sell for good money when tidy and in good condition especially around here.
