Over the last week or 2 I have been changing/adding a few things to my ride..

1. Sound deadening boot

One of the first things I did, mainly because the magna boot has pretty harsh rattles, I decided to buy some adhedsive sound deadening material, similar to Dynamat, does the job. Paid $150 for 5meters which Just does 2 boots (1 magna, 1 vr commy)

I suggest this, as most annoying rattles have disapeered, still trying to sus a rattle which I believe is from the rear window bouncing against the brake light (plastic) Im gonna get something to wedge in between it.. most likeley somemore sound deadening!

I just cut the sheets to match the holes just to strengthen the 'shell', its pretty easy, get some sharp sisscors or stanley knife.

2. Auto shifter

I purchased this from Auto spec in Murray ST in perth for $65 very easy to install.. just grab a phillips head screw driver and undo the bolt at the front of the knob. Remove the knob and it will have a plastic thin stick coming through the shifter, which is the release button for the shifter, to make the new shifter sit flush, cut the plastic stick to desired size, then screw the knob securely.

3. Cannon Muffler - Super X

Also purchased from Auto spec and installed by Muffler & Brake in myaree. Quality job, and great service. spent $230 all up. Performance wise, much more 'revier' noticble power gains. Not too droney like the 4 bangers, rather loud, back fires nicely when you give it juice.. a must have. Im not sure if all cannons are made the same, But im really happy with mine!

Mods to come in following weeks
- Super lows/lows coming soon.. waiting to arrive.
- Whiteline Rear sway bar & front strut brace
- K&n panel filter.. considering TH smokers CAI kit, still a maybe.
- Pacemaker Extractors
- EL Dials

Following months
- Sports kit (only the rear pods and skirts)
- Oversized TB
- Leather Retrim
- 17x7 or 18x7" rims - undecided.

I'll keep yas posted as mods progress! :rocket:

EDIT - Number plates removed

Looks good. I like the shifter.

When you say you've stopped the rattles from the boot, do you mean even from outside the car you don't get any rattling?

I mean from both inside and out, the rattles have REDUCED. With more bassy songs, I can actually crank it to hear nice bass.. not the vibrations that come with it.
The rattles in the boot I have discovered so far are from; Spoiler, Boot rails/shell/, Plastic on rear brake light and number plate. To fix this, I covered all holes,
Added some deadening to the back of the plate, and also tied a thick bit of rope (vinyl) behind the number plate bolts just to assorb most of it if you get my drift. There is pretty much no way to get all
the rattles out 100% because of the way the boot was designed, or invest in $xxxx's worth of deadening

Pretty much ANY Car audio place distributes sound deadening material, You pay for the brands I believe, The idea behind those adhesive sheets are all pretty similar made for the same purpose. You can choose to buy "door kits or boot kits" (varies in quantity)
But you can also just buy a certain amount (eg. $100 worth)

yeh mate, Im a slack guy, I should treat my baby with more respect, WIll get around to it one day.. :)

Ive thrown the box out, But to tell you the truth theres a few left at A spec so if your planning to get one, do it now.. theres limited stock and I doubt he will be getting in more.

A Spec? Auto Spec? What exactly is this place called and do you happen to have a phone number (seeing as I'm in Sydney so Murry Street means nothing to me)

TOP_FLYT, have you considered getting a verada boot liner? I reckon this should cover the inside of the bootlid nicely and hide all the sound deadening? If I was you, I would be going this way as the sound deadening is rather ugly. Not knocking the job you did, but throwing a boot liner over the top would look schmick. ;)

Mark H: Thats a good idea, I was trying to think of something to cover it.. (another layer of sound deadening?) to make it look a bit neater.. as the first layers primarily goal was to cover any holes.. that would let vibration travel through.. But a verada boot liner would cover it up nicely and make it look neat. I shall be giving wreckers some calls..

So do the Veradas actually have a cover for the underside of the boot lid? Also, are they done with the same crappy grey carpeted plastic stuff? Or did they splurge & do it in Vynil? Could you post picks of ones boot?

The cover is the same grey carpet that you get in the rest of the boot, but you can always use it as a template for some vinyl.. I plan to :)

The sandman: I dont believe he has a website, just walk in or give him a call. Its a small accessorie shop near the chinese oriental store/cinemas.

The knob is similar to the one you have thumbnailed. its a copy, but without leather trim.

SLO3L: A set of 18's and low profiles + superlow king springs are on the way, dont you worry! lol
