Hey people!

Just after a little bit of feed back on a small engine leak that I have! First thing I did with my last oil change was the rocker cover seals.

Today I have done a flush on the transmission, When under the car I have noticed a very small leak that looks as if it's just to the left of the sump lower down! So it's almost like the seal between the main engine and transmission.

I don't know a lot about cars but I have taken the choice to do small jobs on this car and learn a little. What would this leak be?

If it's where the transmission meets the engine then in most cases it generally would be the rear mains/crankshaft seal. You'll need to get the gearbox & flywheel off to get to it.

However, I've very rarely heard magna's crankshaft seals having problems so I suspect it's likely something else.
The o-ring on the front camshaft cap very commonly goes hard with age and seaps out oil. It's located very close to the join between the engine and the transmission and if it was leaking heavily then the oil would seep down the engine and likely end up exactly where you describe it.

If it's not that, then going out on a limb here but it could actually be grease from the driveshafts. After a certain amount of usage, sometimes the seals/clips give way and it spits out grease. It may sound stupid but the grease that comes out can look like oil. I know I was dead certain it was oil until I touched the gunk and realised otherwise.

Let us know how you go.

Often what happens is the oil from the leak will get stuck between the engine block and sandwich plate then will over some seep out appearing as a rear main seal leal.
