Hi guys,

I have a FWD Magna Tj Sports and just recently a shuddering has started to appear when driving in 4th and 5th gear. I just had a wheel balance but the shuddering still occurs.

Has anyone else has this problem or does anyone have an idea what this could be?

Helps if you mention km on the car.

In order of likelihood, roughly:

Wheel alignment out.
Defective wheel or tyre.
Worn tie rod or tie rod ends.
Worn ball joints.
Out of balance (due to wear) drive shafts.
Worn wheel bearings.

How bad is the shudder? Sometimes if you dont have hub ring spacers you can get a vibration at speed with aftermarket wheels but shouldn't be a 'shudder' unless you have bent studs.

The shudder is terrible, shakes the whole car.

Go to a trans place, get some "shudder stop" for the trans, sounds like the clutches in the torque converter are giving issues, is common in a lot of auto's and given is only in 4th and 5th sounds like may be the issue
