So, a few days ago, i salvaged the Clarion DB166 head unit from my old Ford, to put in my new 2001 Solara V6.

I found wiring diagrams such as these:
Clarion HU: http://clarion.com/au/en/MungoBlobs/100/281/DB166-inst,0.pdf
Car: http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Mitsubishi-Wiring.pdf

Following all these perfectly, ive managed to bugger up somewhere.
Now my dashboard back lighting doesnt work at all.
EDIT-----> It is also the backlighting where the gear shifter is to show if im in L-2-3-D-N-R-P,<-------------

I have checked all the fuses, and none are blown.
I have tried reconnecting the "Illumination" Cable.
I've regrounded the headunit.

Is there something common amongst this model that could cause this?

Cheers
James

Did you check both fuse boxes? The one in the drivers side kickpanel and one in the engine bay?

I bet 99% its just a simple fuse. Did you disconnect the battery prior to doing the work?

Yep, just a fuse. It was one of the "Head Light" fuses. I didn't have a good look first time round.

This is why you Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery prior to commencing any electrical work
