Hi I am hoping someone can help me by giving me instructions on how to change the fluid in my auto gearbox. It is a burnt brown colour and the tranny is not changing gears as smoothly as it used to .
Cheers.

Okay, you'll need to pay a visit to Mitsubishi Spare Parts as you'll need some genuine fluid from them. From memory, each bottle of Mitsubishi transmission fluid is around the $40 mark, and you'll require two of these. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I don't think your particular Magna has an external transmission filter as it was deleted earlier on in the series (somebody correct me if I am wrong). Just write down your VIN and give that to them as they'll be able to give you the correct fluid and tell if you require a external filter.
So pretty much just warm your car up in Park, then shut it off and jack it up. It makes things a million times easier if you remove the snorkel from the air box by undoing the screws and clips at the front towards the grill. Take out the air filter too, as there is some bolts in there you'll have to remove.
Go underneath your car and next to your passenger front left wheel you'll spot the Transmission, which has a sump drain plug on it. Undo this just like you would your engine oil and drain as much fluid out as you can. Not all the fluid will drain out from your Transmission as some still stays inside, so it'd be worth your while doing a drain and refill again (unless you're looking at flushing your transmission) in the not too distant future.
Put the sump plug back in, and use a funnel down the dipstick tube to fill it up. If possible, try and record how much fluid came out so you know how much to put back in again, which from there once you've put the car back on the ground you can start it up, run it in Park and make corrections to the fluid level.

How do I do a flush of the auto gearbox?
That's been covered a few times here.
Best to take it to a Mitsu shop or trans specialist to get it done.
