How hard would it be to transplant this button climate control in place of the twisty knobby climate control in my TR Magna??

Lolwhat? What kind of advice is this.
Installing a climate control system would not be as easy as just replacing the control unit. If it was that easy then everyone would do it - even the manufacturers. I can guarantee that at a minimum you'd need to change your dash loom. I'm not sure on the specifics for a 2nd gen but the dash loom is a guaranteed minuimum that will need to be changed, along with installing some levers, servo's (motors) and some sensors.
I'm sure this has been covered before. May be worth doing a google search for "climate control conversion second generation magna site:www.aussiemagna.com/forums"

It doable but you need to wire up servos to the existing aircon system then have to wire up the control panel. Just depends how much time and effort you want to put in. If you want this feature just buy a verada, then lease you know it will work first time all the time.
