Hi guys. Looking or some advice. My 2002 TJ is due for cam belt change. The car has done 200 000km.
I have bought from Rock Auto in the past and am looking at getting all the parts from them. New water pump....what is the view? The hydraulic tensioner (actuator) was replaced last time (Repco), so I think a new one will be a good idea.
So, I am looking at getting the belt, hydraulic tensioner, both pulleys, water pump, and 3 seals. Rock Auto has Dayco and Gates (similar prices). Which is better Gates or Dayco?
If anyone has bought from Rock Auto recently can you confirm the part/package numbers?
The Gates kit TCKWP287 does not include the hydraulic tensioner, which is part number T43190.
The Dayco kit includes everything and package number is WP287K1A.
The above do not include the 3 seals, but I can get NOK for about $10 each in Sydney. NOK seals are good and I think the other good brand is NSK.
