So I just bought a bucket of problems in the form of a slightly trashed V6 TE Sedan.

One problem is that the power steering is leaking BAD - leaves a lovely little 2cm wide puddle of red wherever you park it.

I'm wondering, has anyone had experience with buying reco racks off ebay? Is it really worth the extra $150 to get it from one of your usual power steering places?

The other option is to buy a used part with a 6 month warranty from Imlachs. My gut tells me this is just delaying the issue, and I should grit my teeth and fork out the cash. Does anyone have any thoughts?

The final thing is how to get the dam rack out - is it as simple as undoing the ties to the wheels, taking the bolts of the firewall and dropping it, or do you really need to take off the exhaust manifold?

Thanks so much for your reply, my KH is rather vague in the steering I find, I might keep an eye out for a rack and pump to fit to my KH. I wonder how much Mal would sell a set from a TW/KW for?

As said, the TL-TW is noticeably better. I had one put into my TH and very happy.

I bought a rack and pump off Mal. It is a TL and its alot better he even sent it with the pipes still attached so it was easy for me to put on the car.
PS: It's a b itch of a job to put on the car first time around.
