Hi guys,

I have a 2002 tj exec, duel fuel, 175,000km on it and is on king spring lows front and rear with kyb shocks and sits on cj lancer 18's. Had the wheels and tyres put on about 4-5months ago and all has been sweet. In the last few weeks I started to get a front end shudder that would kick in at around 60km/h and be there up to 110km/h, if you were to sit on a speed with barely any throttle it would not vibrate, but under any acceleration [especially up hills] it would shudder, not so much through the wheel but more so the body. Under braking it has no shuddering. I originally thought perhaps wheels? Took it to te wheel shop and one is only slightly out of round, however that has been the case from the day I put them on, they swapped the left and rights on the front and it seemed to be good for a week, then it was back, so I thought id swap the fronts for the backs, shudder went away for a week again and now is back. The engine revs freely in neutral and pulls hard up to 60 and beyond. I have run it on LPG and petrol and tr problem is present on both so I don't think it's a fuel or timing related matter.

Thoughts on what the problem could be?

Cheers Dave

Given the speed and condition of the shudder may be the torque converter clutches, go to a trans place and get a tube of shudder stop, may be all that is needed

I put some stop shudder stuff in, and topped up the transmission fluid. Funny thing is it was good for a day or so and now it's back! It's like everytime I jack the front of the car up the car runs fine for a little bit then goes bad again! I checked all the engine mounts they look fine, nothing seems out of the ordinary....any other suggestions guys?

Could be the CV Joints.

Is there anyway to check if these are going or worn? I just find it so odd it would go for a week, then come back, jack it up, go away again, then come back.

Needed my car to be fixed asap as I don't have the time to do it myself, had it dropped off and inspected today and the inner CV's were gone. Having it all replaced and will keep you posted on results. Cheers
