8 gauge would be fine for that sub/amp. But if you're going to install something beefier later, or add a second amp (i.e. speaker amp), you'd be better off putting something thicker in.

Thanks guys,
I'm going to install it all tomorrow, I'll post a picture of the results if im happy with it :)

Where can i ground it? I have heard people doing it under the seat and stuff but where exactly is it? Anyone got pics?

hey Josh, I installed some gear in my 97 TF sedan on the weekend and found 3 farily large screws under the carpet on the floor of the boot over on the drivers side. One of those made an ideal grounding point for my Kenwood KAC-7204 amp. Make sure you scrape back the paint to get good contact to the chassis. Of course I'm assuming you're going to mount your amp in the boot ;)

Hey Rakhurt, I just installed it all and this is exactly what i did.
Just gotta troubleshoot why the sub isnt working :(
Anyone willing to give me some help? Shoot my a PM

Is the amp turned on/functioning, or is it just the sub?

What ground are you connected to? I know there's a couple of screws in the boot floor that have plastic holders (for lack of a technical term), so they won't function as a ground. I used one in the side quarter panel. If you peel back the carpet roughly behind the antenna/fuel cap, you'll see it popping out at you.

Also, it's best for people to post in this thread instead of PMing you. That way if someone else has a similar problem in the future, the answer will be publicly viewable.

Ah hey man, I figured it out that it was a blown fuse. I just spent 3 hours trying to find a new fuse since the closest stores didnt have them instock for me to plug it in and it to blow again

Anyone know anything about mosfet AL-2300. Friends got one in his garage and its a 1/2 channel but i dunno RMS or anything.
