Hi Guys, i was driving home the other night and my verada decided that the timing chain wanted to break. have looked and noticed that there is some extensive engine damage to go with it. I'm looking at just replacing the engine instead of rebuilding, looking for some mods to do at the same time, or would I just be better off putting in a 6G75 instead of a new 6G74?? thoughts please.

Funny Verada, must be a 2.4 as the V6 has a timing belt.

Sounds like a good excuse for a 3.8

You must have a unique engine. What type is it? Pictures of damage would be great.
Possibly not a KH, possibly not a Verada, possibly . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Anyhow, just fix it. You might get funny looks when you try to buy a new timing chain for a 6G74 though. lol

If you're looking at getting a big more bang for your bucket performance wise with a new motor, it makes sense to jump straight to a 6G75.
