Was looking to put a RPW 65mm throttle body on the TJII what are they like and are they going to create much better smoother throttle response and more response down low as well?

It's been some months but I spoke with the main guy at the local performance shop a few doors down from my work.
He deals with with RPW and has fitted these to 6G7 engines.
He had a heavily modified magna VRX with one of these throttle bodies fitted (whatever was the largest available from RPW anyway)
He said that they don't really increase power as such in stock motors but they do eliminate some minor flat spots in the stock engine's delivery. Also with the butterfly valve mods it makes the engine more responsive off idle, giving the impression of greater power plus gives a more linear power delivery in stock/mild engines.
According to him, the greater flow potential does translate into a minor power increase in highly modified 6G7 engines (like the one in the workshop that day).
Maybe worth considering after something like an exhaust upgrade?
It wouldn't be the first thing on my to do list if I were looking at improving performance.
Just my 2 cents worth ;)

I put one of these on my TJ exec about 6 years back and was moderately happy with the results.
1. There is a slight torque/ power increase.
2. Ignore the advertising hype. There is rapid throttle response just off idle which does not give smooth take off-and driveability. Barely touching the throttle will cause the engine to rev far more than is required for a smooth take-off. The so called increased flow at small throttle openings can be achieved merely by pressing the pedal a little further on a standard T/B.
Other drivers will hear the revs and wonder why you are jumping on the throttle so quickly when moving away from the lights.
3. The throttle is quite touchy when driving along at low speed ie 40 - 50 kms/hr.
4. These comments relate to my manual Magna. Autos may have a different experience.
Cheers
