Hi Guys,

Anyone successfully replaced these to prevent the lid from slamming down everytime you close. I just assume mine is normal unless it's worn out?

Do you mean the hydraulic arms?

There are no aftermarket ones available that I know of, I have not come accross them wearing out as such

Dave, the 380 boot has a gas strut similar to the bonnet

I have to 'nurse' mine shut then let go about 10cm from shut.
Most boots I've handled have a bit of resistance when closing the lid but the 380 just slams shut after half way if you don't hold it as I'm sure you guys have noticed :-)

Mine only slammed shut after I fitted the spoiler. I assumed it was the extra weight. I must admit I get annoyed with my wife when she just 'drops it'

I constantly have to tell my GF, my kids and my nephews not to slam the $^%(*(*Y%%^ boot all the time. They shut it so hard the whole car vibrates.
I patiently show them how to shut it gently, don't just 'drop' it, but they never learn.
And yes, I have a series 3 VRX wing fitted (see avatar), but it weighs SFA and I don't think it makes that much difference.
So yes, some sort of heavy duty damping on the struts would be nice.
