Hey all,
I've recently had a flat battery and now have notice that I have no radio!
When i first turned the car on the tap player screen showed "---" although this had me stumped, I continued to hammer away, pressing buttons.
I managed to get the radio back by pressing "1111", however, after a minute or so the radio will turn off and display "cd2". Once pressing "1111" again I get the screen for the clock and then hit "6" which is a preset station.
Although I can get the radio for one minute intervals, its really pissing me off that it wont stay on!
How can I resolve the issue?
Can I reset the code at all? Does anyone know the code for 1999 Magna?
I read pulling the fuse or taking clamps off the battery would reset it, is this true?
If you could reply ASAP would be handy

Take your car's VIN number to a Mitsu dealer and he will give you the correct code.

"- - - -" is the point at which you input the code. And it won't be "1 1 1 1".
When it shows Cde it means it has shut down because the right code wasn't put in.
Code can't be reset or changed, a trip to the Mitsu dealer is called for, or junk the radio and put in an aftermarket unit.
[Way back in 1999 the Magna radio was the bees knees, valuable and protected by that code against theft, now those radios are cheap as after market purchases and a lot more capable. A 1999 radio that hasn't worn out or malfunctioned is a rare thing indeed.]

yep costs nothing to get the code.
most dealers only require you to supply the vin number, the one here in Lismore (NSW) is abit tighter and wants to see rego papers and photo id before giving you the code

I Have the code, 4466, however are there any steps involved when putting the code in?
Its not exactly straight-forward entering the codes. I believe the channel select (1 -6) buttons correspond to each character for the code. for example Pressing '1' 3 times will show a '3' as the first code number. I believe this is how mine worked.
You really need the radio manual to figure out the correct button sequence

Radio manual? It's outlined in the Owner Manual but that's no help if you don't have one.
I think (IIRC) the above procedure works on a TJ and a 2004 Lancer, but that is no guarantee.
Write to code down somewhere obvious, a sticker on the inside of the glove box lid is good. You will need it every time you disconnect the battery.
My 2002 TJ had a seperate manual for operating the stock stereo

Really? I have a 2001 TJ but (of course) it came without owner manual or service log book. Must track some down.

[SOLVED]
My mate jumped in the car, the stereo screen showed CdE (code) and just punched 4466, the code for TH magna and away it went! F**K off it did, the time I spent doing it myself, then when someone new comes along, BANG it works -.-

Now write the code down in the owners manual so you'll know it if you ever have to replace the battery.

Already been done mate!
For future TH Magna owners, enter the code by simpply pressing the code when screen says CdE
e.g. code 1234
when CdE screen is shown, just type 1234!
