Hey guys,
Just wondering if I could get someone to point me in the direction of the overflow drain pipe on the firewall for the aircon. I have had water flowing back through the dash when driving and believe that the drain pipe is blocked, because I've checked the COWL and thats fine.
Photos would be great if you could post and highlight where it is, cause I dont really feel like pulling the wrong hose and having to re-gas the aircon!
Cheers,
Will

Yeah mate, well I haven't looked at the heater core in general but know its a problem on the passenger side, rather than the drivers side.
The water flows back through the dash only when it rains though!
So I'm coming to the conclusion of it must being either the evaporator overflow drain pipe clogged or a seal leak, although I seen a forum post on here saying something about a leak under the front quarter.
If it's that much of a deal I wont worry about it.
Although I cant seem to see the evaporator overflow drain pipe attached to the firewall? Any ideas of where its located?

Can't help you with that as I've never played with it.. However..
Front passengers side footwell to the left.. Behind the glovebox.. Peel back the carpet and there's a grommet there.. Check to make sure that hasn't been messed with as that could be an issue..

I dont imagine it has been tampered with due to there being no water on the passenge side?

TO be honest, I've studied the mitsu manual for 3rd gen evap systems and cannot remember any "overflow" drain pipe. Here's a pic of the dash

I've read about water seeping into magnas on the passenger side when it rains. I'll try and find the thread, but from memory it ended up being the leaf catcher piece under the windscreen. May be worth pulling them up and checking it out.
Here's a few threads about water leaking into the passenger side footwells

Im not to sure if its the evaporator drain pipe, I reckon the problem is that when it rains the drain pipe which allows the cowl to drain has been blocked flowing back through the firewall instead of out of the darin pipe.
Would you know where the drain pipe is located on the firewall?
