My TJ Solara has started a alarm sensitivity problem and goes off for no reason whatsoever.
Is there a way of De-sensitizing the system or disabling the system without interfering with the locking system?.
I'm afraid to lock the door at night as the alarm goes off at all hours
Any help is greatly appreciated:nuts:

Check your door locks and also the BEM plug..
Simple things that may alleviate the issue..
My passengers side front door switch Is playing up.. I've WD40d the slide switch an that alleviated the issue for a little while..
A trip to the wreckers and a replacement would hopefully sort it out for a while..

What do I check in the door lock and what is a BEM plug ?. I'm not that technically minded but can do repairs if told how.

The door switch down the bottom of the door
- Small screw over a rubber cover - Undo the screw and make sure all of the door switches are working fine.
BEM
Under the dash you'll see a small black box thats in the drivers side footwell.. Unplug and replug it and see how that goes. It may just be a dirty connection, thats playing up.
The other switch is the bonnet switch, which if I remember correctly is the more common occurence. You can test the switch with a multimeter or just replace it with one from the wreckers.

I have heard also that if the bonnet isn't sitting quite right, it'll trigger the alarm... might be worth investigating, as I believed this has happened to another forum member before.
