Those prices seem correct for a mitsubishi dealer. If you want a cheaper alternative, try repco, or even Mal at Mits-Fix:

You should have called me mate, Rocker cover gasket kits INCLUDING tube seals $27

Engine mount $99.95 complete mount

Dampers I could have done Boge for that price and near done Koni as well.

And be wary of buying any rubber components from Mitsu, seeing they don't have a high turnover you are likely to get very old stock. Got caught out by CV boots that had surface cracks out of the box and lasted 18 months. Aftermarket boots at half the price replaced them with no problems showing up in years.

It's the same for accessories, trim etc. as well. The chrome gearknob surround will set you back like $350 or something insane. It's made of plastic for ****'s sake.

Roughly what is the margin there? Is it completely exorbitant?

well dno if i can say exactly but....i paid less than half of that for my gasket...and 90% of the time its been cheaper for me to buy genuine than it is for me to go and buy non genuine...which works excellent for me cos id be reluctant to buy non-gen anyway....(im a bit anal LOL)

Ever purchased jeans or shoes with 300% mark up and you think parts are bad

Also, third gen and second gen gaskets are totally different, even still there is no such thing as 100% mark up on parts, trade is generally 10 to 15% which is sfa

Yeah ok they don't have a huge mark up. The way he said it made me believe they might have.
