done a search.. but cant find my answer

hi all im having a few issues with the central locking with my executive.
it was intermittently refusing to lock with the remote, then just crapped out all together.
my casing has been apart before as i wouldnt imagine mitsubishi using superglue to glue the casing back together

where would i best be going for a replacement remote?
as its a nice feature i'd like to keep
i'd imagine it isnt hard to program the remotes?

in the meantime i've been using the keys to unlock it, which isnt so happy about.
ps lock refuses to work with the keys, i have 3
the ds lock can be tempermental as i have to go lock unlock a few times for it to open just the one door.
so saying its getting annoying. is a understatement

it seems to be a trend in mine as the boot lock does the same, the key will only intermittently open it when it chooses to. if it will let me open it with a key.

sorry for the slab of text..
any help or pointers will be great
matt

cheers!
i'll go and see what the dealer near home and work want for a new one.
as ive found them on ebay. but i'd prefer to go to a shop\dealership cos after postage costs. it isnt going to be any cheaper

You have problems with your door lock solenoid probably. Or maybe even the lock ECU. If the key refuses to lock the car, try disconnecting the battery, and checking each door lock with the key, obvioulsty it wont be central locking with no battery, but if the locks work, then you have narrowed your search.

opening with the keys i dont have issues apart from it not opening with the keys from time to time
its just a matter of pulling the door trims off and investigating the problem, with the locks
but being said, its getting better now, or could just be ive worked out the knack of opening it first try. or any crap has dislodged

in all honesty.. i can live with it for another couple of weeks before i can afford a new remote.
or two so i have a spare with the spare keys if i ever lose them or lock a set in the car.
as putting a multimeter across my remote battery confirms it's got a flat battery. as sometimes i'd have to press hard on the remote to lock or unlock the car.
so its been a gradual thing.

and one thing i forgot.. i remembered it after i last posted.
i keep my keys on me at work, got drenched one arvo and its when the remote started playing funny buggers iirc
i'll be making sure i wont be letting a 2nd one copping the same fate

BUMP

finally got this sorted today
was just a remote at fault this time. $65 from frankston mitsubishi. wasnt going to complain as they programmed it to the car too
now to eventually get a spare, just in case with my spare keys lol
