Hey Guys,

Now that I have done the minor based jobs around the magna, I wanted to get some information regarding a seperate incident.

PROBLEM: Once the RPM reaches between 1600-1800 give or take a little, the car begins to shake, although once increasing the revs, it dissapears.

It generally happens only between speeds of 50-80km/h.

Please get back to me on suggestions,

Cheers.

These are the things that I think it could be,

- Plugs*
- Lead kit*
- Engine mount*
- Heat shield, inspect your exhaust manifold for cracks
- Valves
- Fuel pump and filter

Im thinking its more towards the plugs or the engine mount.

Any suggestions?

Take a look to make sure that all your leads are plugged in correctly and none are arcing out under load.

Does the gearbox feel like its changing gears fine etc.?

I read this somewhere:

Unplug the spark plug wires one at a time while the engine is idleing. Each disconnect should case the car to stumble. If you pull one and it doesn't stumble, there's your dead cylinder.

Would that be any use?

Yeah the transmission is fine along straights, its when I begin to climb slight hills at about 60km/h and rpm about 1600-1800.

sounds like torque converter to me, get some shudder stop and give that a go, cheap way to perhaps solve the issue

This is how I test mine..

Take off lead to be measured
Set multimeter to ohms
put one on one end of lead, put other lead on other end of lead and read resistance. (then wriggle the lead a little to see if the resistance changes)
measure lead to see if your resistance falls within the acceptable ohms per metre limits.

8000 per foot IIRC..

Ill grab some of that shudder stop and give that a whirl!

Sounds like the answer.

Its more a shudder then a shake.
