Hi All,

My 95 TS V6 manual stalls when I press the clutch, low rpm I guess and also stalls when I ease off the accelerator. But the car drives and accelerates good otherwise, as long as I have the accelerator pressed.
Done a lot of reading regarding idle issues with TS magna V6. I am guessing it is ISC motor failure but also my engine mounts are gone, engine vibrations being felt while changing gears. Below are a few points I noted. Could someone confirm these please, before I start working on it?

1. Is this a ISC motor issue?
2. Or is this a TPS issue as well? - the engine warning lamp is NOT on when running. No warning lamps on.
3. or is this an engine mount issue or anything else?

It's done 160,000 KMs and I have cleaned the TB a couple of months ago. I didn't remove the TB off the engine but sprayed a TB cleaner through the open Butterfly and used a old toothbrush as far as possible. No issues with the fuel consumption either, happy with 10-11L/100km in town.

Please advise.

Thanks Nash.

low rpm I guess

No need to guess, the car has a tacho. lol

My V6 TS kicks up to about 2,000 rpm from a cold start, drops rapidly to about 1,200, then slowly comes down to 800 rpm when left to idle.
If yours doesn't do that it is probably the ISC.
Idle speed is not affected by TPS settings or engine mounts. Do the ISC first.

ISC, TPS or engine mount problems do not produce a "check engine light" warning (aka CEL) as far as I know.

Thanks MadMax. Will update once I replace the ISC.

Funnily enough, I changed my throttle body which had an aftermarket ISC on it. My idle went to shit! Exactly how you described! I put My 150,000Km old ISC on it and all was well again! I dont know how much they cost, but maybe grabbing one from the wreckers and cleaning it up is an idea? Of course if the problem is still there, youll be wondering if its the second hand ISC!
How on earth are you getting 10L to the 100k is awesome! I dont come close to that!

Madmax my Manual TS V6 does the same as yours does on start up so figure that as normal and shezza sorry to tell you I get consitantly 9.4 -9.5 lt/100km with mixture of 60kpm and 80 kpm city driving, better than wifes 2011 6 speed auto Kia Cerato. The old 6G72 V6 Mitsi engine is a freak when it comes to economy and I don,t drive it slowly by any means just get it into 5th gear as early as possible 60-70kpm

That's the advantage of a manual - you can keep the revs low and less power loss through the gearbox.

I guess I am just lucky :S I do have an auto, but I am that much worse that something must be wrong! I was suggested that being my O2 sensor is 150,000ks old, its time for a new one. I changed that and in the last few years Ive changed the fuel filter and pump, leads, distributor and plugs and no real change. Im praying the new O2 sensor does something for me... So to sum up - Yours is freakishly economical and mine is freakishly uneconomical. Lovely :P

Have you had the battery disconected? If so you will need to let it reset itself, same thing happend to my 94 TS after i had done some work on it. Disconnect the battery for a couple of seconds then connect it again, start the car & let i run on idle for about 10 minutes without any acceleration, if you press the accelerator you will have to start over

This happened to me after my battery went flat n i just took it to work and reset the base idle with the M.U.T and it was all good :-)
