hi everyone..
scored a Clarion APX1300 mono bloc for a great price...
installed it this evening, connected the power to battery and went to tune it..
no bass....
it suddenly dawned on me, I put the earth and power cables in the wrong connectors..
all three 20A fuses blew!!!
OMG..
i've corrected the connections, but haven't had time to get new fuses yet, but....
I cant smell any burnt smells etc....
Have I killed the amp??!?!?!??!?!?!? or will new fuses fix my heartattack moment??

can anyone put my mind at ease???

That's what the fuses are for, massive shorts, accidental - etc, should be fine.....
Well, I'm 90 % confident, they are all repairable...

Insulate those open wires with heat shrink or tape, before you short Something else, Oh, have you got a main fuse under the bonnet?
Check that one too..but its probably ok..

Yeah... It was a rushed job, have new connectors with heat shrink on order at altronics tomoz..
The main in line fuse is still in tact..thank goodness. Will clean it all up on the weekend properly

I'd still cover them up with leccy tape for the mean time.

Should be fine.. A wise man once told me..

"Treat it as a hobby.. Take your time.. Its not a race"

I personally would just lop the ends off so they sit in there flush and look pretty. especially in an area that people will see.. but that's just me, I'm all about the aesthetics ;)
