2.the standard map lights terminate to a single blade connector, verada map lights hav two-how do i wire these in????

i dont care if the courtesy light works, just that all lights can come on when i press a switch

Ok.

The 2 wires needed are the room lamp wire, and the map lamp wires. You will find the room light wire going to the middle dome lamp.

To mount this you will need the mounting bracket for it. You will also have to trim the headlining to suit the light. Trial and error with a knife and measurements.

whats the room lamp wire?
where would i pick it up from?

yes, i have the mounting bracket, so trimming it with a knife is the way to go

The room lamp is the lamp in the middle of the roof.

It has 2 wires going to it.

is it possible to wire the center light to power without tapping into the room wire?

i dont really care if the light comes on when i open a door or so, just that if i press on they come on

OK. Very simple!

Do this once and properly.

Cut the single pin plug off the map light wire. Attach that to the same colour wire going to the 2 pin plug.

Extend and splice the other wire coming from the 2 pin plug to the room lamp wire which is red. The room lamp wire goes past the map lamp wire so you should be able to access it.

Make the hole bigger for the bracket and light.

I cannot make this simpler. It is 2 wires and a bracket. If you still have dramas and questions, get someone to physically help you and do not do this yourself.

Edit: Also, use logic and give stuff a go. You probably could have worked this out by trying with a test light. I understand the need for questions, and tips. Believe me. But seriously, how about trying to do it and instead of coming up with "I do not understand and provide all the solutions"

I am not having a go at you, but you wont learn a single thing, if you do not try to work stuff out. 90% of the mods I do is by simply giving it a go. The lightbulb took lots of attemps before it was perfected. There was no forum then. Intelligence is gained not given.
