IIRC its both the chassis and the rear suspension setup that are completely different. Would require big $$$ to be done custom.

Yep. 3rd gen wagons used live rear axel from day one whereas the sedans had IRS.

AWD sedan floorplan is different to a FWD sedan floor plan, so it's impossible (or, at the very least, unfeasible) to do.
